Since mid of 2002, a Singapore businessman Mr. Ng Kee Soon, had envisioned IBG Super Microorganism Bio-fertilizer to be the key to modern agriculture in the Philippines and the beginning of a new era. With his persistence to ensue in this vision, he encourages his close associate Mr. Lim Wai Lee, a Hong Kong national and several of his fellow countrymen, to invest in the Philippines and soon after obtained the sole distributorship from Malaysia and the formation of Bio-IBG Philippines Corporation.

The tropical islands of the Philippines is mainly an agricultural country with soil rich and fertile and fueled by the monsoon winds, rainfall occurs from May to February annually. Staple food crops such as rice, corn, sugarcane and vegetables are grown abundantly throughout the year. A wide variety of fruit crops are also grown to cater for the local and foreign market, they are mango, banana, durian and pineapples to name a few, hence it is an agricultural habitat.

In the past few decades, agricultural production in the Philippines has been steadily increasing. Factors contributing to the increase in agricultural output include the use of higher yielding crop varieties, advanced technological equipments and the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. The use of chemical fertilizers however has its draw backs, these chemical fertilizers are growing more and more expensive and decades of continued use made the soil acidic. Some farmers who would want to rehabilitate their soil were hampered by the cost of lime application, trucking services and labor. With soil becoming acidic, farmers experience a gradual decrease in their production. Forcing them to increase chemical fertilizer inputs, hence increase of the cost of production. The effect would be a higher product cost and loosing a grip on the competitive world market. Too much chemical fertilizer application contributes to environmental hazards such as red tide and poisoning of local fauna and flora species that are beneficial to the growth of agricultural crops let alone health issues. This method will naturally create an upspring of unsustainable farming
